Professor Dimitris Metaxas, Distinguished Professor of Computer Science at Rutgers University New Brunswick, has been elected to the position of CARTA Center Director following the retirement of Professor Yelena Yesha from UMBC.

CARTA is fortunate to have Prof. Metaxas as our new Director. His experience in leading similar multi-disciplinary industry-government-academic research organizations and his outstanding record as a researcher have made him an invaluable part of the CARTA team since the Center’s inception. Combined with his established relationships with Center members and researchers, Prof. Metaxas is uniquely qualified to continue building CARTA’s reputation and impact for our members, as well as guiding the Center towards the I/UCRC Phase 2.
